BEST.DAY.EVER!

I am so excited right now. I came right home from Bella Ella Curvy to blog about this! I found the greatest thing today. CURVY COLORED SKINNY JEANS! I haven't been able to wear colored skinny jeans in a really long time because sure there are plenty of colored skinny jeans out there but they either are too small or they show every dent and all my cottage cheese. Even at my favorite place Bella Ella Curvy they have had some but every time I try them on they show every little dent on the back of my legs and my butt. Today I went in because it was buy one get one free leggings and I need some leggings that aren't black but I found something so much better! Skinny Jeans that fit, are flattering, and don't show my dents and cottage cheese. My husband will not be happy but they were on sale and they are a beautiful color. I wanted to by them in every color because they had burnt orange, mustard, and a bunch with polka-dots too! I haven't been this excited about an item of clothing in a long time.Oh then I got home to a cute cardigan I ordered a while ago and it is cute too! Good day!
See! Amazing right? Thank you Bella Ella Curvy! (Shirt from Target)

Sorry I apparently cant turn that way and take a picture but you had to see the backside.

Did I mention I got myself a new coat:) Target $40. Amazing deal and so many other cute ones. You have to have a cute coat for when you go to church or on dates.
Enjoy!

Boots with the Fur. . .

At last its boot season! I have to say that summer is my favorite time of the year because I get to swim, wakeboard, and be in the sun. Most of all I don't have to work! Gotta love working in education! Although I do love summer it's not for the fashion. The BEST season for fashion is defiantly fall. There are so many fall fashions that I love but today it's just about the boots.

I love boots! (not boots with fur but it made you curious right?) Since I'm in Utah there is snow and cold weather so I have to have a good pair of boots or two or three. . . You get the idea right? I used to always buy cheap boots because I can't afford to pay $100 or more for a pair of shoes. If you are like me that is a lot of money. It's tough to be a poor college student! Anyways. . . Last fall all of my cheap boots had holes or other problems and they weren't wearable. I was able to convince my husband that I would need some boots before it started to snow and he agreed that it would be better for me to buy a nice pair that would last so I headed to Nordstrom. I only had about $100 and in the shoe department at Nordstrom that's not much. Luckily there was a sale and I got some great boots for either $60 or $90 I can't remember. After I wore them I swore I would never go back to cheap boots. I couldn't believe the difference! Then later when it was near Christmas time my parents gave me some christmas money. Once again I headed to Nordstrom for another pair of boots. I found some Steven  Maddens for between $90 and $130. Again I learned nice quality boots are amazing!

Wanna know the best part? I pulled them out to start wearing again and they still look and feel great on my feet. My cheap boots rarely lasted more then a season.

Basically I am saying that if you struggle with boots like I did then save some money when you can and try some nice boots. You can also check Ross but I haven't been able to find good boots in my size yet.

The other suggestion I have about boots is to get some simple ones that you can wear with everything. Usually I would say get the fun crazy ones but if you want nice ones to wear for a few years don't get crazy trendy boots like boots with the fur (See what I did there? Making good use of my title) because by the next year who knows what will be in style.

Here are the boots I got last year that are still in great shape!

Sorry the pictures aren't great because I wasn't planning on posting about boots so this is just a picture I took for the outfit.

Enjoy!

OOTD

Now that work has started again I get pretty busy especially with all this grad school stuff to so I decided to do an Outfit Of The Day. if I don't have time to post how to's  at least you can get an idea of how to put random stuff together.
Sorry for a bad blurry picture but I was trying to get a good picture of my new necklace. Normally I don't do big chunky necklaces but I decided to try and I am loving it. It's from groopdealz an it was under $10. Also here is another example if how to mix stripes with prints. Top and cardigan from Target and skirt from Old Navy and shoes from Ross of course!
Another mixing prints with stripes and finally some fall colors. Top shoes and jeans from Target. Cardigan from Bella Ella Curvy.

Tip about new shoes: So I thought I would suggest this because it's something I learned the hard way. I used to work at a shoe store which I shall not name since they fired me without cause, didn't give me my "3 written warnings" and the day before the owner told me I was doing a great job. Oh and if I go in there they will call the cops. Dramatic I know. I'm not bitter or anything..... This store  sells cheap shoes and breaking them in always made my feet hurt. I have scars on my heels and some of my toes from breaking in new shoes. Now what I learned is if you are breaking in shoes and you will be walking a lot you need two things. Band aides and another pair of shoes. Don't ruin your feet! Today I wore my new cheap shoes so I kept band aides in my pocket and another pair of shoes in my purse.  This way when my toe started to hurt I put a band aide on it before I had a blister. I didn't have to use my other pair of shoes but they were there just in case!

Just know your shoes. Cheap shoes hurt more because they aren't nice material but who can afford nice shoes? The only way I do is because of Ross. Nicer shoes usually aren't as bad but if your not sure just take those band aides and an extra pair.

Take care of your feet and enjoy!

Get the most out of your closet

.
Just an example of my organization problem:)

I learned once that people who have high anxiety like to shop because once you buy something it relieves anxiety. So I have anxiety issues so even grocery shopping is fun for me:) The other thing that helps relieve my anxiety is organization. At my house everything has a place and their is a place for everything.I may go a little overboard but it makes me feel better. I guess my organization is seeping into this blog so hopefully you are okay with it.

So this looks pretty scary because it is stuffed full but it is organized. On the right door I have an over the door shoe thing and on the left door I have a hat rack. I also have a rod for the bottom half of my closet for extra space. My closet is also color coordinated except for in the middle there where the arrow is pointing that is my shirt dresses and my new stuff so it has to be in a separate place. Once I have worn it once it goes with the other clothes. Right now I have a few fun new things I am saving for when work starts again. I didn't wear the clothes I got from the Nordstrom sale so that they can be my new "school clothes". Oh and my cardigans are on the bottom rod and shirts on top. That way I can pick a top and then a cardigan to go with it.

This is the rod. It is just from Walmart and it is really strong and it doubles my closet space which I really needed.

This is my hat rack that works perfect for scarfs. I love it because it doesn't take up space and I can see all my scarves.

I wouldn't be able to survive without my jean holder. I actually got this at Ross and I had the same one before until my kitty killed it by climbing up the side. It was only like $5 or something and they still have them after years and years:) Gotta love random Ross finds.

I love the rod because it splits up my clothes too. On one side I have my regular shirts and on the other are my shirt dress things that are longer.

This is were my gloves and tights are because I don't wear them very much so I pull them out when I need them and yes I may have a whole bin full or gloves. . .

Sock drawer
Undershirt drawer
My socks to wear with flats and oxfords

Perfect little spot

And there are my skirts. The only things not on black hangers are my skirts and dresses.
Okay so in this I have my workout clothes in the top three rows then my bras in the next and then belts in the next and some random random stuff at the bottom that I have no place for.
I hang up my cap sleeves that I use only for LAYERING not wearing by themselves. That is why they are away from my other clothes.

I also like to hang my clothes on my shoe thing. I pick a couple of things I haven't worn in a while to remind me to wear them again.

And the best part I can shut the door when I don't want to see anything!

The only thing I have problems with is organizing my sweats. They just drive me nuts because they don't fold well but who hangs up their sweats?

Fixed for now but soon they will be all messed up again.

And there it is. My closet. Love being organized and being able to see all my clothes so that I remember to wear them all:) Oh and everything has to be on black hangers.
So ladies if there is anyone out there that lives in a small house or has a small closet I hope this helps! If you ever need my help you know where to find me.

Enjoy!

Sunday Sales

I am sad to report that I have not heard much about sales this week. I will edit this post if I do hear about more but for right now here is what I've got. If you know of other good sales let me know.

Target
This week target's tees are on sale again. All of their sandals, flats, and more are on sale between 30 and 70% off! I haven't worn their shoes much but it sounds like a great deal.

Nordstrom's sale is still going on. Prices go up August 5th so get there soon if you want some of the new great fall stuff. I wanted one of everything so go take a look.

Ross I know I have said this before but Ross still have a great shoe selection. If you have been thinking about going there but haven't yet now is the time. Once fall hits they seem to have less of a selections so go find those flats you need for fall.

Groopdealz LogoDon't forget about groopdealz either. The have had some awesome stuff lately! You have to check it all the time though because stuff goes fast. They post new stuff every morning and afternoon. Usually I check it right when I wake up before I even get out of bed and then again during my lunch. Stuff is gone within hours so do what you have to:)

Bella Ella Last but not least always been checking Bella Ella's facebook page for their daily deals and did I mention that they have Instagram now! Also don't forget they do a give away every week so get following! Oh and Curvy ladies there is a separate Instagram and Facebook page for the curvy store.

Have a great week and as always Enjoy!

P.S. I will be having my small give away soon so follow me! If you dont have a blog or whatever  you can always follow me by e-mail. There is a place on the right hand side of my blog to do that. I will let you know of other ways to get entries soon.

Okay just found out that TARGET'S dresses are up to 40% off! It also looks like there are a bunch of other things on sale because it is the end of the season.
My mom has this and it is very flattering I borrow it all the time. $22
My sister has this and it is so cute with a tee underneath and some good thick legging! If I had some good leggings I would be buying this thing! $20.99

How cute are these for $15
Just go to the website there is all sorts of fun stuff.

Sunday Sales

Here is some stuff I know about for this week!

Old Navy is doing 30% off everything in the store. If you are shopping online the coupon code is EVERYONE. Also they got some new stuff in recently so check it out. I think I am going to order a new pencil skirt:) They are my favorite because they are stretchy, thick (no cottage cheese or dents!), and long but not to long that they look funny. They also come in petite and tall if you need it. This sale ends July 23 so order or go in soon!

Bella Ella has a coupon in the newspaper if you get the Sunday paper. There is a little magazine type thing called Savvy Shopper Deals and in it Bella Ella has three coupons in there that can also be used at Bell Ella Curvy. I always save those and usually end out using one each month (that is about how often the magazine is in the Sunday paper) because they have 25% off shirts, 50% scarfs, and 40% off color skinnies and other things like that and they expire about a month after the magazine comes out.

Target has all their women's dresses on sale. They also have cardigans for $15. This is a great deal because its the nicer brand in the women's section! Usually their sales last through out the week but they run out of stuff so the sooner you shop the better. Also if you have kids there are tons of good deals on kids clothes because of back to school shopping.

Good luck and if you know if any other sales out there let me know!

Enjoy!

I had to add because I learned of another sale at Old Navy. It is the same as before 30% off but this one goes until July 29th so check it out. I just got my new pencil skirt in the mail yesterday and it is so cute. I will post picture soon!

Also I checked out Target's sale online and they have great deals on maxi dresses with all the price cuts!

Don't forget it is also the Nordstrom sale! My favorite place ever if I wasn't so poor! Remember though that Nordstrom is a good place to get your staple items because they have an amazing return policy! Just don't abuse it because that makes me so mad. Be honest:)

Stripes N' Stuff

If you haven't noticed stripes are kind of in right now. I always say that I feel like everything in my closet is stripes but it isn't true. Half my closet is stripes and the other half is stuff to go with stripes. Stripes are okay by themselves but combined with something else is even better. Easton even wears stripes with other patterns! Here is some examples:

Shirt for Old Navy, pants from Target

Cardigan from Bella Ella Curvy, shirt from Bohne, and skirt from Old Navy

Snapped this pic when my sister wasn't looking  (she will probably be mad) because I had to show you the polka dot jeans with the striped shirt. Jeans and Shirt from H&M
If you are nervous about doing it or are unsure what to put together I would be happy to help.

Enjoy!

Stars and Stripes

It has been a while since I posted. I have been so stressed but I am finally getting to the point where I have some time to relax. Summer started off rough with a death in the family, primary stuff, and school stuff. I recently asked to be released from primary and I feel bad but I have not been keeping it together to well. I feel like I have been giving 50% to everything and I cant stand that. I want to give 100%. I miss the kids already but it has been such a relief and a heavy burden has been lifted. Now I have had some time for myself and I have even had time to read(fun books not just textbooks)  and go boating and now some  blogging!

Holidays are just another excuse to pick out fun things to wear. 4th of July in particular is a fun one with how mixing and matching patterns is what is in. Stars and stripes. Perfect right? I know I should have posted this BEFORE the 4th but I figure you can do stars and stripes on the 24th too.

Star shirt from Old Navy, dress from Old Navy, red shoes from Burlington
Cardigan from Bella Ella Curvy, star shirt from Old Navy, striped skirt from Old Navy, red shoes from Burlington

Here is a close up of those red shoes. They were an awesome find at Burlington Coat Factory. I have never been in there looking for shoes before because I usually just stick with Ross but I am so glad I found these. I am not usually a red person but every girl needs a pair of red shoes. Plus how cute are the tassels and oxfordish style is awesome.

Stripes again using tape

Liquid Sand from OPI on my fingers
I hope you all enjoyed your 4th of July as much as I did and remembered to be thankful for those who help keep our country free.

Enjoy!

Plain Jane

First of all I have to say that Plain Jane is not a bad thing at all! Some of you may not want to wear stripes with floral or upside down fish but still be cute and trendy. Since anything goes these days simple outfits are in too! Plus with this hot summer weather simple and less layering is probably a good thing:) My simple outfits are still not super simple but hopefully they will at least give you an idea of what I am talking about.
First off for that simple outfit you have to have some cute shoes. A pair of Vans or Toms are a good choice if you are a busy mom. I love these Vans I got and they are super comfy too. Obviously you can get a more neutral color too depending on what you like.

Here is my some what simple outfit. Switch out the striped skirt for a plain one and take off the cardigan and you have a cute "Plain Jane" outfit.

Once again you see my Vans with some cute cropped jeans. Switch the striped shirt out for a white tee and once again you have a cute "Plain Jane" outfit. There is nothing cuter then a mom with a cute kid in a cute pair of dark skinnys a white t-shirt and some cute colored Vans or Toms.
Here is a good example of one of those cute moms in a simple outfit. Way cute with the little detailing on the shoulder.

Help! I'm Stuck!

Are you stuck in a rut with your clothes? Wearing the same outfits all the time? Feel like you have no clothes?

I can help you with that! I am the same way. Sometimes its just easy to wear the same thing because you know it works and you like it. This may be weird but sometimes I will wear the same outfit I wore to church to work/class the next day because its just easy.

I also feel like I have no clothes sometimes. I have a lot of clothes but a lot of them don't fit me right now:(

Here is what I do when I am feeling like I have nothing to wear:

The first thing I do is go through my closet and find something or a few things I have not worn in a while. Go though everything. Sometimes a cute shirt or skirt is hiding in there that you have forgotten about.

Once I have found something(s) I set them out where I can see them often. This helps me start thinking about what I could pair them with.

Pick one thing and create an outfit around it. This can be anything from a skirt to a pair of shoes to a piece of jewelry. It can be so fun!

I once had a coworker ask me if I ever wear the same outfit twice and wondered how I have so many clothes but really I am just mixing and matching.

Sometimes it may take a while to decide what you want to do with a certain piece of clothing but that is okay. I have had that grey maxi dress sitting out for a few weeks now because I haven't decided what I want to do with it.

Focused my outfit around a headband a little while ago

Turned out pretty cute.
If you feel like you don't have anything to wear go buy something new. I am not saying to go spend tons of money but go buy a cute headband from target or a scarf from just about anywhere. These things help change up your wardrobe.

I am always will to help too. I love to come up with random outfits:)

Enjoy!
